St David’s Day Celebration, Feb 24th 2018, at the Royal Northern College of Music Manchester.
We were invited by Manchester Welsh Society to sing at its St David’s Day Celebration Concert on February 24th 2018. The event was held at the Royal Northern College of Music and sharing the stage with us was the Rhosllannerchrugog Male Voice Choir, Ryan Davies (tenor), Iwan Owen(pianist) and Aaron Ma and Shimeng Sun(harpists). The hall was full to capacity and we received an excellent ovation.

Unfortunately our Christmas Concert at Prestatyn had to be cancelled due to adverse weather conditions.

Both Côr Ger y Ffin and a talented band, The Little Big Band from Chester, performed to a capacity audience at All Saints’ Church Gresford. The concert was highly commended, and it was an honour to have been invited here.

RECORDING OF A C.D.
In 2017We face a challenge of recording a C.D., as part of a series of disks of old traditional hymns. The C.D. series is a vision and a venture of Mr. Ted Clement-Evans, Liverpool. Through these he hopes to preserve the old and popular Welsh hymns for future generations, and his dream is that they will not be forgotten.
The Future– 2017
We look forward to the new year when the Choir will visit Daventry. Côr Ger y Ffin will be part of the entertainment given to visitors from North Wales who are there on holiday.
November 2016 - Capel Y Groes
A concert to celebrate Christmas, with readings and carols was well attended and put everyone in the Christmas spirit. Many praised the event.
Gwersyllt - 11/11/16
From this date you will realise that this was a concert of Remembrance in Gwersyllt. The choice of poems, readings, and music created a very special atmosphere, suited to the occasion. It was good to sing, with audience participation, songs that we have heard from the Two World Wars
Choral Festival 2016
Competed at The Venue, Llandudno, as one of 10 choirs. The standard was very high and we were honoured to receive such a positive and praiseworthy adjudication. On to our next challenge!
Celebration Concert for The Stiwt’s 90th Year.
We had the honour of being part of this unforgettable concert at The Stiwt, in Rhosllannerchrugog in September 2016 , to celebrate its 90th birthday. We were highly praised for our singing and our programme.
Visit to Melbourne 2015
The Choir was invited to Melbourne in Feb 2015. Unfortunately only some members were able to take advantage of this invitation. Despite this a warm welcome was given in Melbourne by the Victoria Welsh Choir. The St. David’s Day celebrations had been thoroughly prepared, including a grand concert held at the Recital Hall, Melbourne. Following this the annual ‘Cymanfa Ganu’, with a congregation of 800 people, took place at St. Michael’s Church in the city centre. Mr. David Scott, a tenor of our choir, was invited to be the soloist at both events. Well done David!
